Health & Wellness

You can have all of the knowledge, skills and plans to make a great life but that life can’t be enjoyed if you aren’t healthy enough to do so.

This is another belief of ours here at the 100 Black Men of London. Our belief is that everything we do to prepare our mentees for succeeding in life would be nothing if we did not enforce the importance of great health.

How we do it: The Workbook

All of the mentees on our Community Mentoring Programme are given a workbook that includes activities for them to carry out at home such as:

  • Cooking healthy meals
  • Identifying healthy food and alternatives
  • Committing to new exercise regimes
  • Exploring the nutritional value of their normal diet.
  • Participating in sports and fitness competitions and activities

How we do it: Events and Activities

It’s one thing to supply people with information and point them in the direction but there’s nothing better than being able to get everyone together and get to work(out). That’s why every year we hold our Health and Wellness Day which provides an opportunity for young people, their parents and the wider community to participate in activities like:

  • Football and Basketball
  • Mindfulness Practise
  • Zumba
  • Boxing
  • Afrikan Yoga

We also run a handful of these same activities after our CMP sessions throughout the year.

What now?

Head over to our Mentoring page and register for our upcoming programme so that you can get involved with the Health and Wellness activities that will be made available to you.
